Linemarkers South East Queensland How we do what we do
This page is designed to explain our work processes and give you confidence in your decision to engage Linemarkers South East Queensland. After 20 years in the business and well over 9,000 jobs, we can demonstrate that we have the structure and expertise to provide you with a quality service.
Let’s start with the stars of our organisation – the line markers. These are the guys and gals who, for example, can transform the blank canvas of a new 60,000m2 distribution warehouse into a clearly delineated area ready to receive stock. Don’t worry our line markers are fantastic at the smaller jobs too.
All our line markers have achieved their Certificate III of Civil Construction, Senior First Aid, General Induction and site specific inductions. Some are WPCG Clearance Issuers for fuel sites and have ASIC accreditation for airside work. Our senior staff average over 11 years’ experience each with Linemarkers South East Queensland and are masters of their craft.
Next, our office staff are pivotal to the successful coordination of the whole job process. Most importantly, our office staff will answer your queries. It can be daunting enquiring about something with which you may have limited experience. Having a friendly knowledgeable person to explain the process can really help.
Here is what else you can expect from our office
Scheduling free on site quotes for one of our senior line markers to meet with you, discuss your requirements, scope of works and measure up. Preparing quotes based on emailed plans and after onsite visits
Scheduling jobs to suit our clients work schedules and traffic flows
Sending to the client our current safety management plan, consumer warranty and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for paints and other chemicals used on site if requested
Preparation of detailed job sheets, inclusion of any plans and safe work method statements tailored to the individual job sites
Re-scheduling the jobs where necessary – this sometimes happens due to rain impacting a job
Arrange purchasing of road marking or specialised paint to be used, signs, wheel stops, speed humps, bollards and other sundries required for the job
Arranging for completion of any online inductions required by our clients
Sending to the client Linemarkers South East Queensland’s certificates of currency for public liability insurance (to $20 million), and WorkCover Queensland if requested
Calling after a job to ensure all is well and then sending you our invoice for the work completed.
Reminder calls prior to job to confirm job time, scope of works and site contact name and number
Behind the scenes, there is also the administration of online contractor management systems for example cm3 or Rapid Global that ensure Linemarkers South East Queensland’s documentation is compliant with legislation – such as public liability insurance, WorkCover, our safety systems and staff training.
As well, the office coordinates our equipment maintenance programs – servicing of vehicles, equipment, and fire extinguishers; testing and tagging of electrical equipment, the provision of construction industry first aid kits, up to date OH&S forms and MSDS for all vehicles. Then there is the task of keeping our policies compliant and our standard operating procedures current. Phew! It is a busy, but efficient office.
Time to get back to the line markers. Before leaving for a job, our crew ensures that their vehicle carries all paperwork and equipment required for the job. Once on site our team leader walks around the site with a site representative and our crew. This allows for any site specific hazards to be identified and management strategies put into place. The walk through is also a time for all crew to discuss and understand the job scope, who is doing what and when. The work method statement is read and signed by all crew once this process had been completed.
The crew measure and mark up and put barriers in place to prevent pedestrians or other traffic going through the work area. The line markers use airless spray guns to apply the line marking paint. Most of our airless spray guns are petrol driven but we also have a battery operated airless spray gun for sensitive sites where combustion engines are a hazard.
Our line markers stay, and the barriers are kept in place, until the paint is dry enough to walk or drive on. Our crews practice good housekeeping on site.
Sometimes our crews work out of hours and no one is around, but if there is someone available, our line markers will check out with them, the security gate or the company’s online app before leaving site.
Lastly, we are a service orientated business, so your satisfaction is our goal. If something is not up to standard, we will do our best to fix it. We want you to become like around 85% of our clients – people who are happy to use Linemarkers South East Queensland again and again over the years.
